Taking Nolvadex AND Arimadex??

A mutual friend asked me to look over his proposed cycle for his prep and aside from the rotation of NPP , Primo , EQ and anavar every 18 day being weird to me (keeps 400mg test 400mg masterpn base)

He has 1mg arimadex ever other day and 20mg Nolvadex every day.

I would think that with that dose of Masteron and arimadex th estrogen level woud be very low and no need for the Nolvadex unles it possibly to help HDL.

Thw whole thing seems like an over complicated mess , i was just questioning if there was any reasoning for the Nolvadex

why the adex? nolva not sufficing? is it based on a "fear" or "precaution" ? or does his bloodwork dictate this as a good choice/combo/necessity?

I told him the whole thing was over complicated and didn't make sense to me. I was just wondering if anyone actually had a possible reason for running both.

I honestly have no clue , personally for me that dose of test , mast and adding in Primo or EQ would have my estrogen well under control. This dude probably hasn't done any bloodwork , ever

He’s probably running it because “that’s what you do during prep”. That old school mentality.

Unless he’s a high converter or running tren I wouldn’t see a need for it. Guys use it in prep to minimize any gyno and keep estrogen low.

Exactly.

The old school way of taking everything just to make sure I have heard of top competitors using high doses of 2 AI's and nolva many times and it's goes back to the more is better mentality many used to have. Although using both adex/arom and nolva is still very common during contest prep. The new school has gone the opposite way with many wanting to use compounds such as mast and primo with a lower dose of test to keep estrogen controlled and some look at AI's as almost poison. Like with most things I feel the answer lies somewhere in the middle for the majority of people. Obviously everyone is different and for most especially with the other compounds in his cycle it would likely not be needed (maybe at the very end). The only way to know is blood work but even so adex only at a small dose should be plenty. The old thought of tanking estrogen to be as dry as possible is a flawed one and whilst you want it low going too low will hinder your progress in a number of ways.

Arimidex is an AI (aromatase inhibitor) that stops the conversion of estrogen at the base. Nolvadex (Tamoxifen Citrate) is a blocker that competes for the receptor against estrogen also know as a SERM (Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator).

In my opinion, if he is running 1mg Arimidex EOD then he will not need Nolvadex. Also, at that dosage of 400mg's of test. I don't think that much anti-estrogen administration is necessary. I would expect negative effects more than beneficial.

Again, his 400mg's of Masteron already acts as an anti-estrogenic compound.
