Hey Grand!
Very impressive physique.
I think you're too good to do just a "state level show".
Maybe set your sights on a national qualifier, usually the competition is a
bit tougher. If you decide to go that route, do the Opens as well as the 40+.
You will do very well.
On the National level there's the Master's Nats in mid July and the North Americans in early August. You do not have to qualify to enter, your age is the only criteria.
Usually the Master's Nats is a little tougher than the Master's at the NA's.
If it were me, I'd do the Master's Nats.
That's 7 months away and right now you look 2-3 weeks out.
That's a long time to hold your conditioning, so I would back off slightly,
let your body cleanse itself for a couple months and then stomp on the gas pedal.
As far as what class to do.
The guys at the top of their class weight wise, usually do better.
The 40+ HW class has some amazing competitors; John Meadows never won that class, as an example.
So again, if it were me, I would drop down to the LHW's.
Remember, weigh in's are on Thursday and the show is on Saturday.
So just make weight and that allows you plenty of time to fill back out.
It is difficult to tell by the pictures, but the areas that may need some improvement are your hamstring "hang" which is needed from any side shots and a little more thigh sweep.
Everything else looks complete and your muscularity is outstanding.
The best way for me to give you my most honest opinion is to see pics of all the quarter turns and mandatories. You can pm them to me if you prefer.
You're looking great Bro.
Keep grinding!
