I hope this will get some of you guys to give strongman a try! It's a great sport. If not, it's a great video to watch right before you lift. I'm 6ft tall and 165lb currently

Its nice to see guys your age with such passion for something this hard. If i was your dad (im old enough to be unfortunately) ... i would be very proud of you. Keep on gettin it man... hope to see you on Espn when im 70 ;)
 
i like the video some impressive lifts, i have some questions...

1. do you incorporate regular bodybuilding training with your strongman training?


2. have you suffered any major injuries doing this type of training? it looks pretty brutal, and im always thinking/worried about injuries with the recent ones i have suffered.

3. how intense are your training sessions and do you do anything specific to recover from them (massage, extreme stretching etc)?
 
Impressive

At your bodyweight and age, you are moving some impressive numbers there. Keep it up and we will certainly see you on ESPN someday. Great video too.

I'm 19, and thanks a lot for saying you'd be proud of me if you were my dad haha. I think one of the whole reasons I got into strongman is because my dad is almost 400lb,has diabetes, and can barely even get around any more. It's really sad when someone is so selfish that they wont even help themselves to have a good quality of life. He's perfectly capable of turning things around, but has no initiative.



qbkilla-

1. I do incorprate bodybuilding. Every workout I do one of two events, and then do low volume high intensity type training for strength/size (except the size hasn't really come yet lol)

2. I tore my supraspinatus doing weighted pullups with 120lb. But thats about it. My back hurts occasionally and I go to the chiropractor once a week. She fixes me right up. I havent really had back pain in a month or two. I still go to her though because my insurance covers most of it and she's pretty hot too.

3. Everything is to failure. everything. I get a massage every three months or so and do extreme stretching every workout. I'm surprisingly not sore very often though.

Thanks for the motivation. Worlds strongest man would be amazing. But I'm half the size I need to be for it. I hope to god I hit some growth spurts in size in the next few years.

What can I say? You've been big motivation for me from the start here on PM. I read all your posts and have all the respect in the world for you. How do you like doggcrapp so far? I'm thinking about trying it sometime, but from what I've read on IM, its only for advanced bodybuilders so I'm not sure how long I would need to wait.

not only do you handle some impressive weights but you just look like you're having alot of fun doing it! great to see you enjoying what you're doing.

First off bro, glad to see this video.
youre damn strong, and have a fair bit of size to you. im definitely impressed buddy. keep it up.

secondly, how long have you been training? You should have at least a couple years of good solid training behind you before DC, thats mostly so you know your limits (as in recovery, what failure is, etc).
 
I enjoyed that...good stuff. Your very strong... I think if you keep eating you'll only get bigger and stronger...best of luck bro!

Thats awesome.Congrats! What contest was it? I really REALLY want to go. But money for a plane and the hotel is the big issue. Plus its kind of unmotivating to be in the 175 class and still doing the same weights as the 231 guys. I feel like I'll bomb on a few events and that would be really dissappointing for me. I'm not too sure how strong the other 175'ers are. any ideas if you've been to nats?

Teen nationals was a train wreck for me. I didnt get much sleep because my dad had a diabetic reaction in the middle of the night. Then, our shuttle was 40 minutes late and by the time I got to the contest, it was already started and I had to do log press with zero warm up. I tore open my hand on the second event which made the following events a real treat. Ended up gettin sixth or seventh. I'm not happy with it, but it is what it is. Alex Truman won and the kid is an absolute freak. Even on my best day, I would not have beat him.

I did brute strength gym classic, on augest 8th. I was in the heavyweights. I think ill do pretty good at nationals, becuse all the events are right up my alley man (except the stupid ass log)

Thats how i feel man, im in the 231-265 and i have to do what the 300+ does as well....... its cool though, i really care about what happens int he 231-265.... not so much overal.

Ive never been to nats either man, the contest last saturday ws my first one ever lol. I got lucky and dont have to fund anything....... my ride is all paid for..... thank god.

That's a really good video!! I love shooting strongman stuff myself so I can appreciate it.

Would you like a couple of tips to make your next vid better? I only ask this because I see some talent here and want to help you along.
 
brad, I think your motivation, dedication, and will power are truly amazing.

Now, what I'm about to tell you is somewhat stern, but it's in all sincerity.

FIX YOUR FORM!!! I really, really, really think you have a chance to go far in strongman, and the last think you need is a fucked up bicep/knee/back etc. I know you may feel invincible, but sooner or later you are going to pay for it. There is a reason the best in the world don't deadlift the way you do. I hope you receive this in the spirit that I'm giving it to you...kindness and humility.
