guys I need to honest feedback of people on this forum who have used a online trainer such as Phil,Alex,Shelby,MainEvent and my apologies for whoever else I missed. I Wanna gear up and shred myself starting january and I want some opinions of clients who have used online training. Will online trainer also discuss how much and what gear I can use or is that a no no?

I think that the best thing to do is contact them all and have a little chat with them about what it is that your wanting to do and what kind of lifestyle your live , this will allow you to get to know the trainer a little and see if your gonna be able to work well together.

I have heard great thinks about all the guys here and from the pics they all have great results with their clients. Some have differant training styles , differant dieting ideas and so on so find out whats most likely to fit your style.

I personaly chose Alex and I'm very happy with what he has to offer , the dieting is very easy so far (no prep yet) and the results have been good , I hired Alex September 1st and have lost BF % since , I'm leaner and stronger now than I have ever been and I have been completly supplement free since the summer.

For my contest prep i have choseen alex azarian . he is the best choice for me.

i didnt try him this past off season . which i should have . ive gotten to big and now have to diet really hard for 16 wks. but i have trust in the trainer i selected his is good at what he does. and takes time with each trainee.

I'll put in a good word for Phil Hernon. He helped me out in the past. His fee is much lower, I think, than what others charge and he is very fast in getting back to you when you ask him questions. He both does email and spoke to me on the phone. I also respect him because he doesnt stroke your ego, he is honest and straight forward.
I think the one of the most important things you need to discover is how your personality interacts with the trainer. Some you will get along with better than others. So I would try to check that out before.

Well I hired Alex Azarian as well and im also very happy with the results thus far.

When it comes down to it, I think it all comes down to you and how serious and dedicated you are with the diet and program they write down for you.

Good advise bro!!!

Gunsmith said it well. I am about to start Alex prep soon. In my opinion I would choose Alex because, he is dedicated and very experience and takes the time to answer his clients daily. He is a super nice guy and expects you to follow his prep and guidelines and he will help you to get lean and condition.

Alex prep info can be found here :

I agree with the others that this is the best advice anyone could offer you. We each are different and this will help you know the trainer/nutritionist. I did just this and have to tell you that I am thankful I did. Through this process I found out who I perceived had the strongest skills to achieve my goals. I also got a good feel for their personality which was a good thing too. This process will ultimately give you the confidence that you have chosen the right guy for your goals. I ultimately selected to work with Shelby and could not be happier with the progress I am making. Shelby definitely knows his stuff and just do a search on here for his transformations, his personal progress, and checkout his site www.troponinnutrition.com

Like several people said, you have to find a pesonality, and program that fits you the best. Good luck man.

Thats a hell of a question to ask when you corispond with them

I'm sure they all have differant views on that subject and I'm sure that it depends on how your prep is going.

Whether or not a cheat meal (or a high-carb “refeed”) is warranted is based on a variety of factors, including an individual’s metabolism, body fat level, how long they’ve been dieting, how far out from their show they are (if competing), etc.

Utilized properly, and under the right circumstances, they are a great way to stimulate metabolism, refuel glycogen stores, and give some mental relief.
All too often though I see guys (and gals) giving themselves a cheat meal because they “think they deserve it” (maybe they completed 8 hours of dieting successfully, or something equally unimpressive). This is obviously a case of a cheat meal being misapplied.

Some signs to look for to indicate a cheat meal or refeed is warranted:
- fat loss has stagnated
- weight has dropped significantly in just a few days (indicating too much glycogen and water loss)
- body temperature is lower than normal (you feel cold all the time
- you feel like complete shit

Don’t feel guilty if you really do need to take a cheat meal or refeed; they won’t set you back at all.. in fact, NOT taking one is what can you set you back. It’s not always about who can diet the hardest; it’s about who can diet the smartest.

i would pick a trainer that had the most experience, the most success in the sport personally, and one that was accessible. I think Phil Hernon fits that description.
he has helped me make gains when gains were stagnant. and is known for responding back to emails FAST. -JS

Shebly did a great job cutting me up when i was fat and now he is helping me bulk up and stay lean at the same time. He is very quick to respond to my emails and answer all my questions. Im finally healing up from some nagging injuries so im excited to see what kind of gains I can make now that I can actually lift like i used to.

I have been working with Shelby for over a year now. He's helped me achieve some amazing things over this time while also helping me obtain a more positive insight to life.

Here's a link to my progress pics for the year, I couldn't be any happier with how things have went working with him. He's became a great friend and "mentor" if you will. He is also extremely intelligent and knowledgeable in the fields of nutrition and training and can easily get that information across to his clients in a useful manner.

I also would highly reccomend Chris Fox who also works with Troponin nutrition. Great guy and has done some amazing work with his clients.

Thats crazy bro...54 lbs in just over 2 months and looking super duper lean!!! Rock on my friend!

A lot of great prep coaches out there and on the board, but I chose to go with Alex A services because of his experience on stage, offstage, and we meshed very well together. We will make a great team this year and he gets a ton of respect from me!
