Bad News with the Bodyfat Test!! About ready to jump off a bridge!!

So I have been dieting for a few months nice and slow. I admit that I had gotten really out of shape because of some personal stuff and injuries.. so at 5ft9 I had gained up to about 247 pounds.. wearing 38inch pants etc. So the first part of this year I have been dieting down to a current 202 pounds. Have not lost much strength at all and through diet, weights and cardio I have a slight 4 pack of abs coming through. Starting to really look good.. I thought well.. I am probably at about 12 or 13 % bodyfat. So my goal is only to get down to 9 or 10% only.. for the summer. That is really lean for me. So i thought what the hell.. I havent been under 200 pounds in 10years almost to the day.. I would go get my bodyfat tested to have an idea of how much I had to loose to reach my goal!! WHAT THE FUCK!!!! i had the calipars done first at the Rush... fucking 21.1%. I thought no way.. its impossible as I used to be leaner at 200 than I am now. SO i dont sweat it..and just figured the guy did something wrong. Well I find this place that does the air bod pod bodyfat testing. Suppose to be as accurate as underwater weighing. I pay my 50bucks ( I know 50bucks for bodyfat testing, but I had to assure myself I was not this fat).. WHAT THA FUCK AGAIN!!! 21.2% =REALIZATION I AM STILL A DAMN FATT ASS!!!! i mean fuck bros... I got a nice 4 pack.. in 33 -34 jeans.. got some definition.. and SHIT!! 21%. That means to get a damn pubic hair close to 10% I gotta be somewhere around 178 or 179. I will look like a ping pong player at that weight!! I dont see how i will look better? I have not be that light in like 15years (now 33) So I have hit 3 buffets since finding this out yesterday and been down. What would you guys suggest.. taking a break.. or just man up and continue for another 3 or 4 months to get down to 10%. Thanks for everyone letting me vent here.. I do not do this much.. but just really freakin out that I am still this fucking fat after working so hard since Jan 1st 2010!!!! People already think I am looking sickly. Shit i dunno! Any advice?
 
Actually, if you were 180 at 5'9" at 5% BF, you would look impressive. Don't concentrate on the weight as much as looks. You are doing good so far. All these tests have some fluctuation.

LOL...That's funny! Well, if you're trying to compete then you gotta' do what you gotta' do and whatever you get down to, weight wise, is where you'll need to be! If you're not a competitive bodybuilder and you're happy with how you look at 202, then just stay where you're at. As long as your bp is good and there aren't any health issues that require you to loose more weight, I would just stay put. Post up a pic if you can.

I bet if you post your picture, there are some on here that get fairly close of what your BF is. Those test can be off sometimes.

It is amazing when you get real test. I see pics of people on here all the time, and in person, that claim they are 10% or better and i know damn good and well what 10% looks like and i am thinking to myself that person has to be 15 to 18%. I have my own calipers so i know where i am.

How true. I bet I am about 13-15% and people tell me I look 10%. LOL, I know what single digits are. I got myself down there last year.
 
THanks for the encouragement bro's. Thinking on it now I wish I had never even taken the Body fat test. Its funny how everything can be going great.. your feeling good.. and damn it just mentally messes ya up. I mean if it would have been a little off.. well no worries, but I think it was sooo far away from where I thought, that I am still in shock. Thanks again and trying to take a pic right now.

BTW.. if I get this pic up I will show you guys what damn 21% looks like in a hurry. Geez I still cant believe it.

You need to lose 20 pounds of pure fat. Don't be surprised if you have to push it down to 160-170 lbs or so to get as lean as you want to be.

Why are you so worried about shrinking? So what, man? You'd rather keep all the fat on? Trust me on this one....when you're lean, you'll be happy. You're not gonna care that you take up less space. You will look and feel ten thousand times better. Weight doesn't mean shit.
 
Yeah now we can see exactly what you are talking about. Even without reading your previous posts i would look at your pics and guess 25%. Even though you can kinda see your upper abs, you are holding a ton of fat in your chest, sides, and shoulders.
 
You look like the 21% Bf. That pod was fairly accurate. You probally need another 20 pounds off. Don't sweat it, you are heading in the right direction. You have made good progress so far. Stay consistant and let's see your next pictures even leaner.;)

Well keep your head up and now you know what direction you need to go. Numbers are just numbers so dont get caught up in them. If you get to where you are HAPPY then it doesnt matter if its 20% or 5%

I have to under 10% to see mine. That means you are going to have a great set of abs at 10-12%.

Yeah unless you have your diet like, super fucking dialed in with a personal trainer from this site, it's going to take you more than 20 pounds of weight loss to get where you want to be. So don't get your heart set on being a lean machine at 180 pounds is all I'm saying. That's the same mistake I made. We're the same height by the way. I ended up having to push it down near 160 before I was at the level of body fat that I wanted. I'm heavier now, but I'm just saying.

And that's the problem with BF% and abs. Everyone thinks if you can see a little bit of abs you're at 12% or around there. Because people associate 10% with abs. The truth is people store fat differently. Look at you. You're over 20% BF and I can see them.
 
Yup thats right.. thats what i always thought... seeing some abs well ur getting down around 12 or 13% Yup I gotta a ways to go. Guess its time to buckle down for the rest of summer!! LOL Thanks for all the help btw.

I'm jealous of the people who don't store a lot of fat on their midsection like the OP. ALLLLLLLL my fat goes right on top of my abdominals. Fucking ALL of it. I have to get so goddamn lean to see my abs the way I want them.
