Dunta needs to get shot in the kneecaps

I see nothing wrong with that play. watched it live.
if people think that play is dirty, then they never played a down of football, ever.
the fact that every hard hit is a penalty and potentially dirty is dumbing down football.

Here is what i say. maclin should have learned that lesson last year when his teammate sat out for a couple of games last year after he got hit over the middle.
you go and do it again, the following year against the same team and same defender, well: just rewards
Show the John Abraham penalty for leading with his head as well
Collinsworth saying "these hits are a thing of the past" really makes me sad that he might be right
next thing you know kicks to the head and punches to the chin will be outlawed in mma b/c it can cause a concussion

4 years high school and 2 years semi-pro here. slo-mo showed him drop his head in a ramming position. my coach would kick my ass if I pulled something like this...and i am talking literally kick my ass.

He CLEARLY dropped his head and went in head first.

No queastion about it.

Bro did you even WATCH the play? The dumbfuck did the same thing as last year when he attacked Jackson. He very clearly drops his head and leads with the crown.
I think the guy should be suspended for a few games.

That was clearly a dirty hit. I like big hits as much as anyone, but I dont like seeing players miss games because of dirty play.

Yeah I saw that and you can tell he didnt even try to wrap arms or anything... he lunged with the crown of the helmet.. glad maclin didnt get hurt. I think it would have been a different game if Vick doesnt leave... hope he isnt gone for long.

that is why they wear helmets ^^
I clearly understand the rules, as I am personally and professionally immersed in athletics, but I don't have to agree with the rules either.

to the poster earlier, no offense, but what is semi pro ball?

sounds like "not" professional ball to me.

I guess most of us are semi pro bodybuilders then.

that is what happens when someone comes across the middle in the NFL... is it wicked, yes, but have seen worse.. he will get fined no doubt... but the db's are there to make plays, and to intimidate the wide outs... if you take that away, the big wide outs in the NFL will have a field day... the hit by the Sooner db's against the Florida State wide out was much much worse.... but will not get suspended... part of the game...

Not legal anymore!

At least it happened to Michael Vick!!

I think the problem is that these guys are all professional football players. They are faster and stronger than a lot or most of the guys they played with in college. When you have everyone moving at pro speed, you have to do things differently to not injure people.

Helmets do not cover the entire head, they leave the chin open which is what Dunta hit. Maybe he didn't even mean to do it, but when you lower your head and launch it at someone like a projectile you have little control after that point.
Even if he had landed the crown of his helmet on the side of the other players helmet, that is not a guarantee of no injury.

The league is trying to get guys to wrap up and tackle people instead of launching these kill shots. I for one agree with them.

They wear helmets to prevent injuries-not cause them. He clearly led with his helmet-which has never been legal-it used to be called spearing. I have played football-albeit 1000 years ago- for ever 15 years at various levels and would have to agree with you that football today has been dumbed down-but it is only a direct result of the huge salaries and the owners desires to keep their investments as healthy as possible.

He tried to get his helmet low so it would not be a helmet to helmet. Unfortunately it does not always work out that way.

I suppose he should have leaned his head back and given him a pelvic thrust to knock him down.

These are the same types of hits these guys have been giving their entire lives and only recently have penalties been getting regularly called for it.

And if anyone should be shot in the knee caps its Vick.

these guys make millions of dollars a year , have access to the best equiptment made.
the get paid to entertain us and personaly i like to see somthing happen , i want to see soomebody get their fucking head ripped off , thats whats entertaining!! their is a reason that MMA is the biggest grossing sport in the world right now , people want to see sombody get fucked up.
you dont watch Nascar to see a buch of guys make left turns for 500 miles , NO your waiting to see that big ass pile up.

Ive said it before , put the rules back to 1975 , and stop drug testing these guys. The rating will skyrocket , then they will be able to get paid more money and if they are worried about getting hurt then they can go pick up a fucking tennis racket

Not to sound harsh but for what these guys get paid to entretain ....

I know a half a million "kids" that risk their lives in a game called WAR for a tiny fraction of what pro ball players get paid and the other team truely wants to kill you , yet when was the last time you heard about one of them getting "turf toe" and having to sit out a few battles or had their face on a box of Wheaties

absolutely agree with you on that they should not get drug tested. We do not pay 100$ for a ticket a football game to see an ordinary guy with skills. We pay to see these bigger than life people do something we could never do. Seeing a 245 lbs linebacker under 9% bodyfat running a 4.6 40... who cares if they take something.. I know I am not paying to see something ordinary I am paying to see the fastest runner, biggest hit. Every sport I believe is put to the limits in their profession. Bodybuilding is taking the body to its absolute limit.... football is taking the performance to the absolute limits. If they use drugs who cares that what we pay to see! :headbang:

a lot of guys on this board have played semi-pro. I am sure they can tell you more.
Guys I played with have or were playing college ball, past NFL pros that got cut and could not stay away from the game, folks trying to go pro and big fuckers that love to hit.

30 years ago a player over 300lbs was unheard of and a 5.0 40 was pretty fast. Today these guys are bigger and faster. it is the difference between getting hit by a volkswagon and a bullet train. I have played the game and have seen some bad injuries happen to teammates. It is not fun to watch a career destroyed.

true. asshole's a dog torturer/dog killer and then gets a 100 mil contract. talent trumps character. personally, i root for the defense to knock that fucker out of the league every time i watch em play.
