I also had the opportunity to testify orally, and went into much
more detail. One very important point I raised is that many of the products
now classified as "anabolic steroids" were sold to health-conscious
consumers nationwide as dietary supplements just months ago!!! And now,
they're looking at increasing the punishments (via unit calculations) by 50
TIMES!

This can be the most significant situation Rick or steroid activists have had
imput towards, to stop the steamrolling negativity that has developed, legally, towards anabolic steroids. Much thanks to Rick for continuing to be a warrior in our difficult cause.

DAMN glad to have such a guy in our corner.

Unbeleivable to me that 'roids" will get you more time in the clink
then SOOO many things that are worse.
Maybe they (government- President whoever) should concentrate more on things of a Higher priority
then worrying about guys that may be trying to enhance there muscles.

Hell no- Lets spend 50 million on fighting the "war" on steroids and steroids in sports.

Rick,
The Commission voted not to increase steroid penalties at this time. I think your written and oral testimony must be credited for the Commission not taking action at this time because you alerted them to the complexity of the issues involved with steroid use.
My understanding is that they are asking Congress for emergency authority to consider steroid penalties to give themselves time to study the issues. Without emergency authority, the Commission must submit amendments to Congress no later than May 1 of the year. If the Congress takes no action to disapprove the amendment, it goes into effect on November 1.
With emergency authority, the Commission can continue to consider the issues and submit an amendment to Congress outside those deadlines.

Trust me Jethro-
Rick is a 'regular guy' like most of us.
Just his 'working for a living' is more profitable, than most of our 'working for a living'! But he helps people alot, and thats invaluable!

campeon-dont forget my favorite....women prescribed testosterone to become men...now that is moral and ethical.

guys, this is what we have been striving for.. it is a victory..albeit, a very small one.. but, we did not lose ground like we have in the past.. we need to counter the wrong versions that people have in their head.. like josh said.. women can use hormones to lessen their chances of conceiving yet the bottle says that strokes, clots, heart disease ect is a "common" side effect.. what the hell.. people die from getting cosmetic surgery every year..they are allowed to take extreme risks in the pursuit of physical improvement..legally.. but, we, can not although they can not document any deaths directly related to roid use..very sad and extrememly ignorant.. the hypocrisy is utterly amazing.. we are told that a pitcher died from ephedra.. his wife pleads that it is taken off the market.. the coroners report then states that it had no consequence .. yet it is still banned.. again..amazing.. intelligent dialogue will win the day eventually.. mikes is to be commended for his efforts and collins needs to know we truly appreciates his efforts.. i know i will e mail tonight to let him know.. and mikes, you know if you need any help in your endevors, let me know.. if yo wnat a sounding board.. let me know.. unfortunately, i have to walk a fine line in writing.. since most of the mags do not want to touch it or seem like they are pro this or that.. but, i can still try a interview.. after all.. it would noy be my opinion.. now would it..
