That’s how they look at the gym I go to. I just bring my own carabiners and attachments in my gym bag but having the handle dangle off to the side still annoys me.

I'm not sure that they're stealing them, at least all of the time. They unhook the attachment from the cable and leave the carabiner on the attachment when they put it back in the pile. Then you're rummaging through all of the attachments trying to find the carabiner

That makes more sense. I have a few of my own as well that are easy to put on and take off.

I've never even heard of this, I would be upset if I caught someone stealing these. Just leaving it on the attachment I would just ask them to leave it on the cable if I noticed them continue to do it. Who is noticing people change attachments?? Well I guess people who have this happen at their gym. Do you guys not have cameras all over the gym??

I get the gym putting the sign up. The last gym I worked out at had to do the same about attachments and leaving plates and dumbbells on stuff. Three people I know of got there memberships cancelled.

For years most of the commercial chain gyms I go to have switched to carabiners with a metal bar inside that prevents it from being taken off the pully.

My gym put zip ties around them. Makes it just thick enough that you can pull it out.

They could always just put tig tack welds on em… Then they’re permanent…

All the gyms i go to have cameras EVERYWHERE, it's very simple to see who steals what.

Lol That's what I always assumed they were used for. I know they come in handy for lots of things though. But yeah I am definatley not a rock climber. When I was a dumb teenager the natur park by me had a few places that were probably 30 ft and I did climb them but no ropes or anything. Thought about hiring someone and doing it with me and my sons. We already hike all the time figured some easy to moderate climbing would be something teenagers would like.

In the old days the next morning there would not be a carabiner in the gym and the owner would find them in his mailbox.
