Monstro .. marco luis rip

I exchanged a few messages with him - I must admit that he was really obsessive

everyone is the master of their own fate they have taken this path and it is their choice - it is not for us to judge but I have the impression that he was not fully aware of the consequences of what he was doing
Yes.. a very unhealthy obsession..

Yes he was truly addicted to it and the lifestyle. He said to me once he was out of money and needed a sponsor.. I told him just to get a regular job and use any sponsorship as extra income.. he said he couldn't since it might interfere with his training and eating. He had a mindset that was very difficult for me to understand since he was so addicted to the game.

Not to judge him and RIP now he is no longer with us, but it sounds like self harm of some sort too.

My guess is there is some serious emotional trauma in his past. Although obsessed, he would understand that PEDs are damaging to health/cause harm.

If "self harm" has been at work, then he needed professional help, so don't punish yourself for "not being able to do enough" etc.

Its very sad.

Perhaps he wasn't consciously harming himself but merely addicted to gear and getting results from it. However the insane dosages would certainly take a toll on the body.

Was that darren16 the same guy?

Lats solid of you to give him a pal to chat with 👍

Threads like this make me reaccess my own life and how hard I push it.
But they also build a, "well, im not thaaat bad" type of mentality too — which is dangerous.
Such a double edged sword.

Being 50 I think about this often. I always said I would downsize to 200 for longevity purposed when I approached 50. Well as I approached 50, other than orthopedic shit everything looked great- CAC, BP, lipids, kidneys, stress echo, etc.

I guess the question is when 1 or more important markers takes a nose dive then how does that person react to their usage and health. Hopefully I won't have to cross that bridge but it's always there in my mind. So the important takeaway is do as much as you can with support supps and Pharma supps to continue to do it as "healthy" as possible.

Some people are against using things prophylactically but I fee that it's important to stop the issues before it starts especially if you plan to use past 45 or 50- daily Cialis, Telmisartan, Statin and/or ezitimibe, SGLT2's.

Agreed. As we get older we can't quite handle as much as we did when younger (and dumber!). Definitely a good thing to reassess your goals and how you can get there safely and within your ability including the use of PEDs.

RXMuscle posted about him on Instagram today. I had no clue he was 47 - based on his pictures I figured he was at least 10 years younger.

It's amazing he made it that long with the way he did things but it's also a sign to others that once you hit your 40s most can't keep going with this stuff like they used to if you value health and longevity.

He was a shill chasing free drugs who you never had to guess what source he was using because it was always the best he’s ever used. He didn’t care about the communities he was posting in. He did nothing helpful and provided nothing useful.
He cared about free drugs.
That is his legacy.

I didn’t like him.

Dying doesn’t make someone likable or a good person.

I wasn't aware of his misdeeds, but I don't blame him for looking for free gear, lol.

He was not an active member in the forums but became quite well known.

He must not have been such a bad guy whensome veterans on the board knew him and talked to him, even if it was to try to save him from himself.

RIP

I hate this bit. For most of us, motivation doesn’t decrease when we get into our 40’s and whilst it’s the right thing to do, it doesn’t make it any easier when have to actually do it yourself

True but as we get older we have to work harder to maintain what we got.

@LATS you mentioned his crazy cycles. How crazy were they? Perhaps this could steer some people from going that path. It's too bad he did not monitor his health. It takes a visit once every 3 months to check if your body is in distress and take appropriate action.

Buying a BP monitor is cheap, that could have saved his life. Blood work every 3 months could have saved his life. I don't understand why some people ignore doing the simplest things to stay healthy.

It sounds like he did blood work, etc. but didn't have the self-regulatory wherewithal to stop.
For many bodybuilding is an addiction and their entire self-identity is tied to it.
To stop would be "suicide" but to continue ends up being that, too.

I am writing this as a warning and a bit of a tribute.. I know he came on the board and got banned from pushing hgh ( trying to sell) and promoting high dose routines.. but I got to know him very well over the years.. literally messaged me multiple times a day..

So today I just learned he died at fibo in germany.. I just talked to him last night..

Now the warning.. monstro was his own enemy in regards to his health.. he never ever took the foot off the excelerator in regards to gear or stimulants.. he was obsessed.. literally.. I told him multiple times a month to take a break.. he woukd send me pictures of his swollen feet.. ankles. And want to know what to do about it.. if I suggested getting off all gear except for trt he woukd then ask if he shoukd increase diuretics.. if I suggested he get a full workup on his cardiovascular he would ask if he should trade his tren dose for Masteron..

Multiple times a week he would send pictures of gear and peptides from various manufacturers and ask which one was better as he was going to try it. I'd ask why? Well.. he just wanted too.. he sent me numerous protocols he was doing and ask my opinion.. id always tell him to lower his doses and take some of the harsher ones out.. but he then woukd change the subject..

I had a bad feeling last week.. I told him he's heading for a serious issue and he needed to get this obsessed thought process in check.. he would say thank you for caring then the next day ask if he shoukd switch his eq for deca.. he ran grams all year round along with peptides and large doses gh and slin.. he was obsessed with gear and improving.. but didn't care one iota about his health. It was very frustrating.. I told my wife last week he wasn't going to around long.. sadly I was right..

This is not a anti gear rant.. this man was obsessed.. scary obsessed.. he lived it and was so addicted he never gave a thought to backing off.. just switching products to try and ease the health issues..

Honestly I'll miss our daily chats.. im more than a bit mad at myself that I couldn't reign in his obsessed behavior in this regard and focus more on his health. . But it is what it is. So please no negatives about the guy. He was unique. But was as nice as they come..
I am sorry for your loss its sounds like he will be missed. Please don't beat yourself up too bad you did what you could and he chose his life on his terms. Yes, he died young but I have respect for people that are able to do that. While dying that young can be a cautionary tale to some, few people can say they have lived life on their terms!! Try and celebrate his life by telling some stories about him that made you proud you were fortunate enough to call him a friend. Also if his ankles were swollen it could have also been he was just having a bout of chf. Try not to be sad he is gone but thankful for the time you got to spend with him and know he is watching over you!
